SUMMARYResponsible for assisting in maximizing sales and margin goals for PROFICIUM by competitively pricingcomponents for cable assembly bill of materials. This includes sourcing competitively priced products that areavailable in time to meet production needs, reviewing new and repeat sales orders for acceptable gross marginsand delivery needs, purchasing products for quick turn orders and reviewing bill of materials for any obviouspart master errors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Re-quote component cost and availability from a bill of materials.Key interface with factories for all materials.Reduce and maintain minimal amounts of excess and obsolete inventory.Close interfacing with manufacturing receiving person to keep updated on shortages and other vendorrelated problems.Follow up on adjusting inventory on hand when necessary to keep accurate stock levels, i.e. damagedproduct, RMA's.Support on time kit release to assure customer delivery commitments by reviewing daily purchasing andexpediting reports and maintaining just in time deliveries.Utilize available inventory on hand for quoting before starting bid process.Maintain files on all formal quotations from our suppliers.Assist in the purchasing of product for quick turn orders.Manage inventory levels.Assure customer delivery commitments.Purchase & negotiate for best price of materials, equipment and supplies from vendors in effort to maintaingross profit levels.Participate in suppliers selection based on quotes and services.Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the procurement field.Makes recommendations for continual improvements based on procedural and practices to reachmaximum efficiency.Monitor & minimize excess, past dues and material shortages.Participation in cost reduction incentives; may be assigned to specific cost reduction projects.Analyze and utilize customers forecast for blanket purchase orders.Compile data in reporting format for managements review, e.g. cost liability from sales order cancellation,OTD from suppliers, etc.Create new department procedures whenever required.Train new buyers on current process and best practices.Conduct weekly/monthly meeting with assigned suppliers representatives.Manage assigned suppliers through continuous improvements to achieve the Company expectations ofOTD, quality, customer services and cost.May require traveling to suppliers to perform audits periodically.Adhere to all department and company standards, processes, and procedures. Knowledge of ISO standardsdesired.Monitor & review PPV behaviors and implement corrective actions.Monitor & Lead improvements for KPI for the department.Maintain the most updated information on the system such as Lead times, Cost, supplier informationQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:1. College degree preferred; five years or more related purchasing experience or training.LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Able to read, write and speak English fluently. Able to understand customers where English is a secondlanguage. Must be able to understand and communicate customer requirements clearly to otherdepartments in the company.COMPUTER SKILLSMust have significant computer experience using Windows, Word, Excel, and use of the internet in supportof job tasks.I have read the above, understand it and accept this position with Proficium.
